Colombia!

In less than twenty-four hours, I will be in Colombia!

I don't have much time to write because of all of the last-minute details and packing craziness, but here is a little synopsis of what I will be doing.

Through the HNGR (Human Needs and Global Resources) program with Wheaton College, I will be going to work with the organization Sembrandopaz ("Sowing Peace") in Sincelejo Colombia.  This organization works on the north, Caribbean coast of Colombia.  I will be there for six months.  This organization works to build peace through a variety of initiatives with surrounding small communities.  I will be helping with the Villa Barbara Farm.  The Villa Barbara Farm is an experimental farm that practices organic agriculture and seeks to practice new methods of agriculture and grow new crops.  Sembrandopaz's website gives a good bit of helpful information on their community: http://www.sembrandopaz.org

I am not sure what internet/computer access will be for me, but I at least hope to keep this blog somewhat updated with what's going on in life and other things of interest!

Hasta luego!!!

Amy
